What it is

Skin Boosters are injectable aesthetic treatments designed primarily to improve skin quality rather than create significant facial volume or contour. Some treatments use small amounts of hyaluronic acid placed within the skin to improve smoothness and hydration-related qualities.

Hyaluronic acid naturally attracts and holds water, and specific injectable formulations are designed for different treatment depths and indications. Product selection should therefore be based on the individual skin concern and the approved use of the chosen injectable.

02

What can Skin Boosters address?

Suitable injectable skin-quality treatments may be considered for selected concerns involving hydration, smoothness and early age-related skin changes. Specific benefits depend on the product being used.

Selected hyaluronic acid injectables can improve hydration-related skin quality and help skin appear more refreshed

Certain microdroplet HA treatments are specifically designed to improve facial skin smoothness.

Selected injectable treatments may help soften superficial fine lines depending on the product and treatment area.

Skin Boosters may form part of a broader anti-ageing plan when the primary concern is declining skin quality rather than significant volume loss.

Improving hydration and smoothness can help selected patients achieve a fresher-looking complexion without changing facial structure.

Skin-quality treatment may help selected areas feel and appear smoother when texture changes are mild.

WHO MAY NEED FURTHER ASSESSMENT

Some factors should be reviewed carefully before injectable treatment.

Active acne, infection or inflammation in the treatment area

Previous reaction to injectable fillers or their ingredients

Significant allergies or relevant medical conditions

Pregnancy or breastfeeding

Previous injectable treatment with an unknown product

This list isn’t exhaustive. Your clinician will review your skin, medical history, previous injectable treatments and aesthetic goals before recommending a Skin Booster.

03

What to expect

Skin-quality assessment

Hydration, smoothness, texture, fine lines and the intended treatment area are evaluated before product selection.

Precision micro-injection treatment

Where appropriate, small amounts of the selected injectable are placed at planned points within the skin according to the product and treatment protocol. FDA-approved SKINVIVE, for example, is administered by intradermal injection to improve cheek skin smoothness.

Skin response & review

Temporary swelling, redness, tenderness, bruising or small injection-site bumps may occur, and progress is reviewed according to the treatment used. Injectable HA products also carry rare but potentially serious vascular risks.

04

Physician note

Skin Boosters are about improving skin quality—not simply putting more filler into the face.

The product, treatment depth and injection pattern should be selected according to your skin concern and anatomy. A subtle skin-quality treatment should preserve your natural facial proportions.

Questions

Skin Boosters is a broad aesthetic term for injectable treatments focused mainly on improving skin quality. Some use hyaluronic acid microdroplets to improve properties such as skin smoothness and hydration.

Not exactly. Although some Skin Boosters and traditional fillers both contain hyaluronic acid, Skin Booster-style treatments may be placed more superficially with the primary goal of improving skin quality rather than creating significant facial volume.

Depending on the product, they may improve skin smoothness, hydration-related skin quality and selected superficial lines. Specific benefits should be based on the approved or clinically appropriate use of the chosen injectable.

Skin-quality-focused microdroplet treatment is not intended to produce the same volumising effect as traditional cheek or contour fillers, although results vary according to product and injection technique.

Timing varies according to the injectable used. Improvement in skin smoothness or hydration-related appearance may develop after treatment rather than following one universal timeline.

Duration varies considerably between products. For example, clinical data for FDA-approved SKINVIVE showed cheek skin-smoothness effects lasting through six months with optimal treatment, but this should not be assumed for every Skin Booster product.

Usually only limited recovery is expected with many micro-injection treatments, but temporary redness, swelling, bruising or tenderness can occur.

Injectables are medical procedures. Their safety depends on the product, treatment area, patient factors and injection technique. The FDA recommends using legally marketed injectable products administered by appropriately licensed healthcare professionals.

Although uncommon, injectable fillers can accidentally enter a blood vessel, potentially causing tissue injury, visual complications or stroke. Treatment should therefore be performed by a medically qualified professional trained in facial anatomy and injectable procedures.

PERSONALISED SKIN BOOSTER CARE

Better skin quality doesn’t require changing your face.

When the concern is hydration, smoothness or early texture changes, adding facial volume may not be the right goal. Skin-quality-focused injectables provide a different approach from traditional contouring fillers.

At Averah, treatment planning focuses on your skin hydration, texture, facial anatomy and desired degree of improvement before selecting an injectable approach.
