Corrective Hair Transplant in Pune

Not every previous hair transplant delivers the density, hairline or natural appearance originally expected. At Averah, corrective planning begins by assessing the existing grafts, scalp, remaining donor supply and what can realistically be improved.

What it is

A corrective hair transplant is a specialised restoration approach for selected concerns following an earlier hair transplant. These may include an unnatural hairline, visible gaps, poor graft distribution, inadequate density or other aesthetic issues.

Correction does not mean simply adding more grafts. Depending on the previous transplant, planning may involve disguising, redistributing, removing or adding selected grafts while carefully considering remaining donor resources. Some repair cases may require more than one procedure.

02

What can corrective hair restoration address?

Previous transplant concerns can differ significantly from person to person. The first step is identifying exactly what looks unnatural or incomplete and why.

An excessively straight, low or poorly shaped hairline may sometimes be softened or redesigned.

Irregular spacing between transplanted follicles can create patchy-looking density.

Grafts placed at unsuitable angles or directions can affect how naturally the hair blends.

Uneven frontal design between the left and right sides may be evaluated for corrective planning.

Previous harvesting may leave limited density, visible thinning or scarring that needs to be considered before further surgery.

Natural hair may continue thinning around an older transplant, making the original result appear increasingly isolated or incomplete.

WHO IT’S NOT FOR

Some situations may require corrective surgery to be delayed or a different strategy to be considered.

Severely depleted donor supply with insufficient suitable follicles for the proposed correction

Very recent hair transplant surgery where the final result has not yet had enough time to develop

Active scalp infection, inflammation or untreated scalp disease

Rapidly progressing hair loss that requires further assessment before another surgical procedure

Expectations of completely reversing every feature of a previous transplant when donor or scalp limitations make this unrealistic

This list isn’t exhaustive. Your clinician will evaluate the previous transplant, donor reserve, scalp condition and realistic correction possibilities before recommending further surgery.

03

What to expect

Previous transplant assessment

Your clinician evaluates the existing hairline, graft direction, density, recipient area, scarring and previous procedure history.

Donor & correction planning

Remaining donor density is assessed before deciding whether the best strategy involves additional grafts, camouflage, graft removal or another corrective approach.

Correction & follow-up

The agreed corrective procedure is performed according to the individual problem, followed by structured recovery guidance and progress monitoring.

Physician note

Correcting a previous transplant is often more complex than planning the first one. We have to work around existing grafts, existing scars and whatever donor supply remains.

At Averah, the goal should be to identify which elements can meaningfully be improved instead of simply adding more follicles everywhere.

Why Averah

Previous-result analysis

The existing hairline, graft pattern, density and scalp are assessed before any correction is recommended.

Donor-reserve assessment

Remaining donor density is carefully evaluated because previous surgery may already have used part of the available follicular supply.

Correction-specific planning

The approach is designed around the actual issue—whether that involves density, hairline shape, graft direction or camouflage.

Realistic restoration goals

Some previous transplant results can be significantly improved, but the achievable correction depends on existing grafts, scars and donor availability.

Questions

In many cases, aspects of an unnatural previous transplant can be improved. The possible approach depends on existing graft placement, donor availability, scarring and the specific concern.

Selected cases may involve unnatural hairlines, poorly positioned grafts, inadequate density, visible gaps or problems associated with an older transplant.

Sometimes. Existing grafts may be camouflaged, supplemented or, in selected cases, removed as part of a broader correction strategy.

Additional density may be possible when the recipient area and remaining donor supply allow further transplantation.

A depleted donor area can limit further surgery. Careful assessment of remaining density and previous scars is required before deciding what is realistically possible.

Some repair cases can require multiple stages depending on the complexity of the existing transplant and the desired correction.

Selected poorly positioned grafts may sometimes be removed, camouflaged or incorporated into a revised design depending on their location and surrounding hair.

Hair-transplant results develop gradually. The AAD notes that most patients see results around six to nine months, while some may take approximately 12 months.

A detailed assessment of the transplanted area, donor reserve, scalp condition and current hair-loss pattern is needed before a correction plan can be defined.

PERSONALISED TRANSPLANT CORRECTION

Correction starts with understanding what came before.

A previous transplant changes both the recipient area and the donor area. That means corrective surgery cannot be planned as though the scalp has never been operated on.

At Averah, the correction plan should begin by mapping the existing grafts, assessing scars and measuring how much usable donor hair remains. Accurate donor assessment is a key part of planning further hair-restoration surgery.

The objective is to make the most meaningful improvement possible with the resources that remain, rather than simply increasing the graft count.

REASSESS YOUR HAIR RESTORATION

Your previous transplant doesn’t have to be your final plan.

Start with a detailed assessment of your existing grafts, donor reserve and current hair-loss pattern to understand what corrective options may be possible.
