01

What it is

Lip Enhancement is a personalised aesthetic treatment designed to improve lip volume, shape, definition and proportion. Injectable dermal fillers are commonly used to add controlled fullness to the lips.

Hyaluronic-acid fillers are among the products specifically approved for lip augmentation, with certain formulations also indicated for lines around the mouth.

02

What can Lip Enhancement address?

Lip filler can be planned differently depending on whether the goal is improved fullness, border definition, symmetry or proportion.

Selected filler can add controlled volume to naturally thin or volume-reduced lips.

Carefully planned treatment may improve definition around the natural vermilion border.

Differences between the two sides or between the upper and lower lip can be assessed for subtle correction.

Treatment may be planned to refine the central upper-lip contour while preserving natural anatomy.

Fillers may restore age-related lip fullness while maintaining a natural-looking size and shape.

Certain hyaluronic-acid fillers may enhance lip volume and soften lines around the mouth.

WHO MAY NEED FURTHER ASSESSMENT

Some factors should be reviewed carefully before injectable Lip Enhancement.

Active infection, irritation or inflammation around the lips

History of severe allergies or previous filler reactions

Previous lip filler with an unknown product

Medicines or conditions affecting bleeding or healing

Expectations of extreme enlargement or unrealistic proportions

This list isn’t exhaustive. Your clinician will review your medical history, previous injectable treatments, lip anatomy and aesthetic goals before recommending treatment.

03

What to expect

Lip & facial assessment

Upper-to-lower lip balance, border definition, symmetry, side profile and surrounding facial proportions are evaluated.

Precision filler placement

If filler is appropriate, small amounts are placed at selected areas according to the product and treatment goal. FDA-approved lip fillers may be injected into areas including the upper and lower lips and lip border.

Shape & symmetry review

Results are visible relatively quickly, although temporary swelling can initially make the lips appear fuller than the final settled result. Filler treatment can also cause temporary redness, tenderness or bruising.

Physician note

Beautiful lip enhancement is about proportion—not maximum volume.Lip shape, facial proportions and the relationship between the upper and lower lips should guide treatment. Modern filler techniques can create natural-looking rejuvenation without necessarily producing obviously enlarged lips.

Questions

Lip Enhancement is an aesthetic treatment designed to improve lip volume, shape, definition or proportion. Injectable dermal fillers are one of the most commonly used non-surgical approaches.

Hyaluronic-acid fillers are commonly used for lip augmentation because they can provide controlled, temporary volume and shaping.

It should not when treatment is conservative and proportion-focused. Modern filler techniques can refresh the lips without necessarily making them noticeably bigger.

Selected asymmetry can often be assessed for correction by varying placement and volume according to the natural shape of each side.

Filler results are generally visible relatively quickly after treatment, although swelling can temporarily make the lips look fuller before they settle.

Duration varies by product, metabolism and treatment area. AAD notes that hyaluronic-acid fillers generally last about 4–12 months, although individual results vary.

Most people experience limited downtime, but temporary swelling, bruising, redness, pain or tenderness may occur.

Dermal fillers are medical procedures and should be administered by an appropriately trained healthcare professional using legitimate products. Common complications are usually temporary, but serious complications are possible.

Rarely, filler can enter or block a blood vessel, potentially causing tissue injury and other serious complications. Needle-free filler devices also carry significant risks and should not be treated as a safer alternative.

PERSONALISED LIP CONTOURING

Better lips begin with better proportions.

Lip enhancement is not simply about adding volume. Lip height, border definition, cupid’s bow, symmetry, projection and upper-to-lower lip balance all influence whether the result looks natural.

At Averah, treatment planning focuses on your existing lip anatomy, facial proportions and desired level of enhancement before deciding how much—or how little—volume is appropriate.
